Supporting the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation

Thank You!

Rebecca and I would like to say thanks to everyone that supported the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation and participated in the 2011 Empire State Building Run-Up. The tremendous amount of support that we received raised $300,000 for cancer research.

Why Are We Fighting Multiple Myeloma?

Multiple Myeloma is a form of blood cancer, and it has affected our friends, the Giusti family and the Cronin family. The Giustis are friends from New Canaan, CT. Frank Cronin is the father of one of my colleagues at SAC Capital. The disease was essentially untreatable until Kathy Giusti founded the MMRF thirteen years ago. Since then, the MMRF has funded research that has discovered and helped speed the application of several treatments that have extended lives and improved the quality of life of the people who have the disease. Although multiple myeloma is still incurable, the MMRF continues to drive the search for a cure.

By partipating in events like the New York City Marathon and the Empire State Building Run-Up, we hope to help raise funds for research and to promote awareness of the mission of MMRF. We encourage you to join us in our mission, and help MMRF work to improve the quality of life for those afflicted by multiple myeloma and to someday find a cure.
